Recruitment Market News |
| UK market news |
April 2008 saw the online recruitment sector pick up a little after March; and significantly when compared year on year because Easter fell a month later in April in 2007. Totaljobs.com reflected this uplift delivering it’s highest ever job application figure at over 1 million in April 2008 a 39% uplift on April 2007. As expected the introduction of a new Easter half-term break (7th to 21st April) did impact job application rates, a slight slow down in conversion was seen on UK search engines during the ‘new’ half-term period. |

We constantly ask our jobseekers to tell us about finding the right job on totaljobs.com; here are some of their latest success stories
“I felt trapped in a job that whilst enjoyable I had to work long days and nights every week. My area of responsibility was over 200 miles from my house and I realised something needed to give, so I started using totaljobs.com. I liked the search feature of being able to provide a wide area or region to be searched in one go. It made searching for a new job much less of a chore, as I am in a relatively small field of expertise and jobs do not arise every day. It didn’t take long to find a suitable position, which I applied for and I am happy to say I was successful.
Thanks totaljobs!”
“I have recently been employed as Head Gardener by a new organisation which is called At Home Services. It’s my dream job and I’m doing it thanks to the advertisement that I responded to on totaljobs.com.
In the previous 2 years I tried various job searches, in vain. My new position has brought back faith in employment again for me. Thank you totaljobs.com”
