Interview of the month
Hariolf Kottmann Cash, costs and complexity
This month, ICIS global editor John Baker interviews Hariolf Kottmann, the new CEO at Swiss specialty chemicals company Clariant. He talks about his strategy for focusing on cash and cost reduction during the current economic downturn, and the potential to improve operational performance on a continuing basis into the mid-term. Despite the sharp fall-of in demand in the fourth quarter of 2008 and the first two months of 2009, some positive results are beginning to show through.
